Kenneth P. Lane, MBA, AIF®
President
Years ago, while working at a local insurance company and attending college, Ken gained insight into how sophisticated investors prudently managed their investment portfolios to maximize their risk-adjusted returns and achieve their long-term financial goals and objectives. Ken decided then and there that his life’s ambition was to do the same thing for people like his own parents and the parents of the people he had grown up with, and the idea to form Center Square Asset Management was born. Since that time, he has dedicated himself to helping clients on their journey to achieving and maintaining their financial well-being.
In addition to helping clients reach and maintain their financial health, staying physically fit and healthy is important to Ken. He is a longtime member of The Capital District Triathlon Club, where he has served as President and head of the Sponsorship Committee. Each year, Ken enjoys training for and participating in triathlon races of all distances, from 14 or 15-mile sprint distances races to 140.6 mile Ironman distance races. To date he has successfully completed 17 Ironman races, including Ironman World Championship races in Nice, France and Kona, Hawaii. Through the years, Ken has enjoyed success by applying the same disciplined approach he’s developed for triathlons to the investment management and financial planning roles he and Deborah have with their clients.
Deborah L. Lane, CFP®, CLU®
Vice President
Deborah L. Lane is a dedicated financial planner with a passion for helping individuals and families achieve their financial goals. After high school, Deborah took a position as a Sales Assistant at a local major brokerage firm while taking college classes at night and on the weekends.
Deborah remembers meeting with a client who was visibly upset. Her broker had been ignoring her calls, and she believed her money was being misused and was deeply concerned about her financial security. Deborah reviewed her file and invited her into a conference room. The client had inherited a substantial sum that should have provided lifelong financial support. Unfortunately, no one had guided her towards responsible spending, and she was at risk of depleting her funds. After listening carefully to her concerns, she was able to address her worries.
This experience instilled the importance of holistic financial planning, and Deborah decided she would make a career educating clients about their choices. She believes investing is just one piece of the puzzle. To ensure long-term success, it's essential to address all aspects of a client's financial situation, including their goals, tax implications, and risk tolerance.
As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® AND CHARTERED LIFE UNDERWRITER®, Deborah specializes in retirement and estate planning. By combining in-depth knowledge with a client-centered approach, Deborah empowers clients to make informed decisions and build a secure financial future.
Outside of work, Deborah is happily married to Ken, except when he makes a mess in the microwave. They share three active children: Ethan (15), Grace (12), and Ryan (12), and two siblings German Shepards; Rex and Reg (4). Deb is currently an active member-leader in the Girl Scouts, BSA Scouts, her church’s faith formation group, and she is a former Treasurer for the local Mom’s Club. At the local elementary school, Deborah has spent many years volunteering with the PTO, School Banking Program, and she is responsible for creating and leading the school’s first science club. In her free time, Deborah enjoys hiking, camping, movies, and spending time with her family.
